More companies will hire temporary and contract workers in 2013, according to a new survey by CareerBuilder. It found that 40 percent of employers plan to bring in temporary and contract workers next year, up from 36 percent in last year’s survey and 34 percent in the survey from two years ago.
In addition, 42 percent of employers plan to transition some temporary workers into full-time, permanent employees over the next 12 months.
Employers also plan to increase hiring of full-time permanent employees with 26 percent saying they plan to increase hiring in 2013, up from 23 percent in 2012 and 24 percent in 2011.
